Seen a lot of back and forth online but most of what I find is either a full-on marketing page or a one-liner on Reddit that says nothing useful. Has anyone here actually tested it? Does it do what it says on the tin? Specifically interested in whether the social media monitoring works and if iOS really needs jailbreaking. the good stuff first. call logs and GPS tracking worked without any issues. the dashboard is clean and easy to navigate even if you are not super techy. location history was accurate and updated regularly which was the main thing I needed. now the bad. the social media side is inconsistent. some days whatsapp messages would come in fine, other days nothing for 12 hours and then a big dump of messages all at once. also their support took 2 days to reply to me when one feature stopped working after an android update. for $89 a month I expected faster help than that. it is not a terrible product but there are cheaper options that do similar things just as well

okay so I work in mobile security and the jailbreak requirement that Auralyte mentioned is a real problem from a technical standpoint 
when you jailbreak an iOS device you are removing the sandboxing protections apple put in place. that means spyera can do more on the device but it also means every other app on that phone has looser restrictions too. so you are trading monitoring capability for device security. on android the situation is better. without root you still get call logs, SMS, GPS, and basic social media. with root you unlock live call listening, ambient recording, and deeper messenger access. for most parents the non-root android version is more than enough. the price is still hard to justify at $89 a month compared to what else is out there though

Not saying this happens to everyone but read the terms line by line before entering your card. The actual software worked fine for basic stuff. SMS, call logs, GPS all worked. it was sitting at around 2.7 stars last time I checked. nearly 40% of their reviews are negative and the company had not replied to a single negative review for over a year. One person said they paid for a 3-month plan and got 1 month of service before the account just stopped working. Another said they were charged twice. I get that some of these are edge cases, but when a company ignores negative feedback on a public platform for 12 months straight, that tells you something about how they handle customer issues. Just saying, do your homework before spending $89 or $389 on anything
To be fair to SpyEra, I actually had a decent experience with their support 
I had an issue with the GPS not updating and emailed them. They got back to me within about 18 hours with a fix that involved clearing app cache and re-granting location permissions. It worked. The software has been running without issues for about 2 months now on my Android device. Call logs, location, and WhatsApp monitoring all working.
I think the experience really varies. Some people get quick support, some get ghosted. That inconsistency is the actual problem. You should not have to gamble on whether support will help you when you are paying this much per month.
Also wanted to add for StackSpectrum, the social media monitoring covers WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, TikTok, Telegram, Signal, Viber, Tinder and a few others. But depth of monitoring varies by app. WhatsApp gives you full message logs. Some others just show basic activity.
lol this thread is giving me flashbacks to when I spent $130 on a monitoring app that would not install on my phone properly and then got told the refund policy had too many conditions for me to qualify not spyera specifically but these premium priced apps all have the same energy. charge a lot, promise everything, deliver inconsistently, and make refunds difficult. if you are just trying to monitor a kids phone I would genuinely suggest looking at more mainstream options first before dropping $89 a month on something with this many mixed reviews online. there are apps that do 80% of what spyera does at a fraction of the cost

genuine question for people who have used both android and ios versions: is the android experience good enough to justify the price even without root? because from what I understand without root you lose live call listening, ambient recording, and deep messenger access. so you are basically paying $89 a month for call logs, GPS, SMS and partial social media. that is what a $15 a month app can do. the premium price only makes sense if you are using the advanced features that need root or jailbreak. if you are not, you are just paying for the brand name at that point 
RenderInventive makes a valid point. I had the same realization after buying. Without root on Android I was basically getting features I could have gotten from something much cheaper. The advanced stuff like live call listening and ambient recording are the actual differentiators but they need root access which most people do not want to deal with because rooting can brick the device if done incorrectly.
Also adding something nobody mentioned yet: SpyEra does offer device swaps. If you buy a new phone you can move the license over. You have to uninstall from the old device first but the license stays active. That is actually a nice feature that not every app offers.
Support wise my experience was mixed. Pre-sale questions got answered fast. Post-sale technical issue took 3 days to get a response. Draw your own conclusions.

SpyEra is a real product, it works, and it has some features that genuinely stand out like ambient recording and live call interception. but the price is hard to justify for most people, the iOS situation is a genuine limitation, support quality is a lottery, and the billing complaints on Trustpilot are too consistent to ignore.
for most parents and regular users, it is overkill in some areas and underdelivers in others. the people who will get full value from it are those who specifically need the advanced audio features and have a rooted Android device ready to go.
everyone else is probably better served by something built more for everyday use. good discussion everyone
