Is it actually possible to tell who someone is chatting with on Facebook Messenger? Has anyone here managed to find out who a partner or friend was messaging on Messenger, and if so, what approach actually worked for you?
Well, most of the online tips and tricks for checking someone’s Messenger activity don’t work. Even though seeing who someone is talking to on Facebook Messenger is slightly tricky its definitely doable, but with the right tools.
The best advice I can give you is to invest in a reliable monitoring tool. Personally, Xnspy works best for me. The only key is getting the app installed correctly on the target device. For that, you need one time access to the device, and after granting all the required permissions and following the installation guide, you can start monitoring remotely.

You have their login information
They show chats on their own
Uhhg, I have been in this rabbit hole before, and trust me, it’s not worth the headache. Just talk to the other person whose chats you want to monitor, and if it’s about kids monitoring, then use parental control tools and put app restrictions.
Xnspy does sound like a good solution bit I haven’t used it before. Does the app actually provide real-time data? Is it hard to set up? And can I see deleted chats as well?
If you are trying this on an iPhone, then literally forget it
iOS security is not there to joke around cause it actually works. This system doesn’t let any third-party app monitor device activities.
The only situation where I have personally seen this succeed was when I already had complete iCloud access and used desktop tools like iMazing on a Mac to download and read an encrypted backup. That setup required Messenger to be included in iCloud backups, access to the person’s Apple ID credentials, and software capable of opening and inspecting the Messenger database files. 
A very hectic process which I will never suggest, especially for non-tech users.

Honestly, this is where Android is just way easier.
On Android, you don’t need iCloud credentials or encrypted backups to see who someone is talking to. If you have physical access to the phone, you can install the Xnspy Messenger monitoring app, which actually has broader visibility and provides actual data instead of encrypted BS lol.
Android allows deeper system access by design. Some apps can log app usage, notifications, contact interactions, and, in certain setups, even capture Messenger notifications without jumping through Apple-level hoops.
