I want to block certain shows that I don’t want my kids watching, but the built-in parental controls are too broad. How can I block individual movies or shows on Amazon Prime easily?

I know how it feels, especially when you have teenagers and want to protect them from explicit content. Have you tried checking monitoring apps? I use Xnspy, and it works well for blocking app access and filtering content. Not only that, but you can also see the installed apps on the target device and web history as well. Blocking specific shows on Amazon Prime isn’t as granular as many parents expect, but you can get very close using a combination of Prime Video profiles, maturity ratings, and PIN controls.
Amazon Prime doesn’t currently let you blacklist individual titles by name. Instead, it uses age-based content filtering, which works surprisingly well if configured correctly. Hope this helps. 
There’s one approach you can adapt where you have to make a separate profile for kids to watch. Amazon doesn’t offer content filtering, but you can make a age restricted profile and add all the shows you want your kids to watch.
Open Prime Video
Go to Profiles → Add New
Toggle Kids Profile
Assign an age range (e.g., 7+, 12+)
Kids profiles:
Automatically block mature titles
Hide search results for restricted content
Remove access to Prime Video settings
I agree with this approach, VoipMax, but smart kids can switch profiles easily, as all the other profiles are literally present on the screen. A smarter approach would be to set a PIN code on your profile so even if they try to switch, they won’t access the profile without the PIN. This is how you can do it.
Go to Prime Video Settings and select parental controls. From there, enable PIN protection and set the PIN code.
Require a PIN for:
Changing profiles
Watching restricted content
Prime Video is like that friend who means well but won’t do exactly what you ask 
You can’t say “block this one show,” but you can say “anything above this age rating, bye.”
The trick:
Make a Kids profile
Lock the adult profile with a PIN
Set strict age limits
And if you want a deep level of monitoring on what your kids are watching on their profile, their web search history, and location tracking, and much more, you can go for Xnspy. It works well for me. Otherwise, you can stick to this method.

Prime Video controls are fine, but if you are worried about what kids search for or try accessing outside Prime, that’s a bigger picture.

Prime Video restrictions should always be your first step. Other tools are your choice, but they are not mandatory if you are satisfied with the built-in parental control features.
