I want to read someone’s messages without notifying them. Tried so many tricks, but they don’t seem to work. I want something reliable that actually works.
Oh god, Instagram is such a weird app, that is adamant on telling all your business to other people. I have also tried airplane tricks, but obviously they didn’t work. Honestly, the best thing you can do for stealth message reading is getting Xnspy. It doesn’t alert the other person, and you can actually see their DMs without getting the “seen” pop-up.
Well, haven’t you heard about Xnspy? It does a fantastic job at monitoring devices remotely. The app syncs data in real-time, and you can actually see what the other person is typing or searching by using the keylogger. Plus, the screen recorder tab captures live snapshots of the target screen at different intervals, so if the Dm is deleted by the user, you can still access it.
I cannot believe this is a topic of discussion. What’s the worst that can happen if the other person can see that you have seen their messages? Why are you all scared of people? Just be honest and upfront. 
I think you are new to these games lol. Instagram does provide the option to read messages silently without alerting the other user. Before you spend a dime on these so-called apps, try the “restrict” option on Instagram. Once you restrict their account, the chats will be moved to message requests, and you can read their messages without actually sending a notification of being seen. Its bit complicated, but its free option, so up to you!!!
This is such an easy thing to do. Just turn off your read receipts so even if you read their message, it won’t send a “seen” receipt.
● On Instagram, go to your profile page.
● Tap the three lines in the top-right corner.
● Scroll down to locate “Messages and story replies.”
● Select “Show read receipts” and then turn the toggle off.
You can log into Instagram on a laptop or desktop browser, open your DMs, and inspect the page’s source code. This lets you view the most recent message content without actually opening the conversation, so the other person won’t get a “Seen” notification. 
Well, as a parent i do use Xnspy to keep track of the conversations. I’d suggest getting it because not only does it provide location tracking, but you can also read Instaram message without opening their DMs or using any other trick.
Okay, honestly, I didn’t know about the restrict thing. Does it actually work? I don’t wanna make a fool of myself.
Idk if this is relevant or not, but if you have access to their device or have their iCloud synced to yours, you can read their Instagram messages. I set a screen time limit on my child’s device and supervise their activity through it. You can also get Google Family Link for Android devices, and honestly Android devices are easier to manage than the iOS ones. Just a preference.
On iOS, Instagram’s messages live inside encrypted app storage. Even backups don’t show live DM activity unless you restore and extract databases with desktop tools.

Good idea, but the thing is, even this method is not reliable; inspecting the source code only shows what’s already cached. Instagram can change this anytime, so it’s unreliable long-term.

On iOS, there’s no legit app in the App Store that lets you read Instagram DMs invisibly, but there are a few ways to preview messages more discreetly:
Notification previews
Set Instagram notifications to Show Previews. When a DM arrives, you can read the message directly from the Lock Screen or Notification Center without opening Instagram.
Using Instagram’s “Restrict” feature
Open the DM, tap the user’s name, and select Restrict. Messages from that person are sent to Message Requests and won’t show as “Seen” until you choose to accept and open them.
I am too old school for this conversation. Why can’t you directly see the message? People underestimate how much Apple prioritizes privacy. From a monitoring standpoint, it’s frustrating.
Isn’t it better to respond quickly than play these childish games… I don’t know your situation, but just talk to another person. For a parent, use parental control tools. You will be thankful to me.
All this talk made me realize I am happy with my Android device, I can’t stand these Apple devices’ strict security regulations. You can even install a monitoring app, it’s like committing a crime on iOS devices lol.
