So I have been going through some of my kid’s social media activity lately, not in an overly controlling way, just the normal parent thing of wanting to make sure everything is okay. And I keep seeing this abbreviation “TMB” popping up in comments, DMs, and even in some video captions.
I know teens have their own language online. Half the time, I have no idea what they are saying. But some of these abbreviations can go in unexpected directions and I do not want to be that parent who just assumes everything is fine without actually knowing what is going on.
From what I can tell, TMB seems to appear mostly in response to posts or as a kind of call to action in comments. But I am not sure if this is just harmless social media lingo or if there is a more concerning side to it. Is this something I should be worried about from a teen online safety standpoint? Anyone with experience in digital parenting or who knows this stuff well, please help me out here.
