Can Kidslox prevent kids from uninstalling the app and bypassing screentime limits? Does it help set parental controls? Are there any good alternatives? I am open to all suggestions.
Hey @JerryDigi, good question. As a parent, I was also on the lookout for a reliable parenting tool, but Kidslox failed me big time. I set the screen time limit for my kid from 8 AM to 8 PM on my phone, but despite this, I noticed that my kid was able to bypass these restrictions.
What’s the point of using the app when it didn’t do the one thing I was looking for? I was so disappointed that I switched to a more comprehensive option, Xnspy.
It has more features than I required, and needed one-time physical access to the device to install the app, but overall, the functionality is super smooth.
Also, the app works in stealth mode, and all the features I used gave me the exact results. I was able to block app access remotely and pass remote commands as well.
So, if you want to go with kidslox, it’s up to you, but be aware. 
If you just want surface-level monitoring, like setting up a screen time limit, then that can be done through Apple’s own built-in parental control tools. You don’t need 100 different apps just for basic monitoring.
But if you are looking for a more in-depth, insightful tracking, then kidslox is not the app for you. I’d suggest starting to look for other parenting tools.
Hey man, I am gonna be honest with you. Kidslox is not the app for you, not even for setting up the screentime limit. Used this app on my kid’s iPad for monitoring, and the results were horrifying.
First of all, Apple’s strict security features make it really hard to install the app. Secondly, the app only works if you have vpn on your device. Also, it doesn’t work in stealth mode, so my kid uninstalled it. Lol. funny right? 
The app gave me a headache, so I won’t recommend it cause I don’t want you to waste your time or money…
You can opt for Xnspy, the app works great in stealth mode, is easy to set up, and at least does the job!!
I really appreciate your honest suggestion, @ByteNavigator, bout Xnspy. I have been using the app for quite some time, and it doesn’t show up in any notification drawer or home screen.
The stealth mode is definitely effective, and all the other features like screen recorder, keylogger, IM chat monitoring, keyword alerts, etc., provide complete monitoring unlike Kidslox.
I’d like to add that when it comes to installing parental monitoring apps on Apple devices, it’s better to stick with the built-in features, as they do the job pretty well, too.
As an iOS user, I have found that parental controls on iPhones are noticeably stronger. Apple’s Screen Time is built directly into iOS, which offers in-depth monitoring and restriction tools that are far more difficult to get around. For effective and reliable parental oversight, Apple’s built-in Screen Time settings are definitely worth exploring if you don’t want to for a third-party tool.

I used kidslox for almost a year, and let me tell you, it was such a ride…
The app got installed after a pretty hectic installation process. First, I set the screentime limits and installed app monitoring on the target device. Any new app installed on the target phone didn’t show up on my device…. And then, for every action, I had to reset the whole phone just for it to work. Secondly, if your kid turns off the wifi, you lose all access. Yes, you heard me right. 
Like, why am I using this app then, when it is so limited?
Bro, honestly, all these apps are crap!! If you have an iPhone, you can set up parental control from its built-in features, where you don’t have to rely on these so-called tools.
Apple Screen Time works through Family Sharing, where you can link the child’s iPhone to your Apple ID. Once it’s set up, you can manage controls remotely from your own device.
It shows app usage and screen time, lets you set app limits, block content, manage contacts, and schedule downtime. Since it’s built directly into iOS, these controls run at the system level, making them much harder to bypass compared to third-party apps.
Who monitors kids’ activities? OMG.. why y’all can’t let your child be free and explore things.. Yes, set proper boundaries and talk to them, but opting for apps like kidslox is outrageous…
