Pulling the whole thread into one place. Do these in order.

##Step 1: Carrier Level Block (Do This First)##

AT&T:

  1. Open myAT&T app or go to att.com
  2. Select your childs line
  3. Go to Account Settings, then Call and Message Blocking
  4. Add the number and save

Verizon:

  1. Open My Verizon app or go to verizon.com
  2. Select the line
  3. Go to Blocks, then Number blocks
  4. Add the number and confirm

T-Mobile:

  1. Open the T-Mobile app or go to the website
  2. Select the line
  3. Go to Line Settings, then Scam Shield or Block contacts
  4. Add the number and save

##Step 2: iPhone Screen Time Setup##

  1. Open Settings on childs iPhone
  2. Tap Screen Time, turn it on if not already active
  3. Select “This is my childs iPhone”
  4. Tap Communication Limits
  5. Set “During Screen Time” to Contacts Only
  6. Delete the specific number from the Contacts app on the childs phone
  7. Go back to Screen Time and set a passcode your child does not know
  8. Under Content and Privacy Restrictions, go to iTunes and App Store Purchases and set Installing Apps to require approval

##Step 3: Android Family Link Setup##

  1. Open Family Link on your phone
  2. Select your childs profile
  3. Tap Controls, then Communication Limits
  4. Set to Contacts Only or Approved contacts
  5. Remove the number from the childs contact list
  6. Go to Controls, then Google Play, and set app approvals to require your sign-off

##Step 4: Block Unknown Numbers (Stops Number Switching)##

On iPhone: go to Settings, Phone, and turn on “Silence Unknown Callers”
On carrier: enable unknown caller blocking in your carrier account settings (AT&T Call Protect, Verizon unidentified caller block, T-Mobile Scam Shield)

Running all four steps gives you carrier blocking, device-level blocking, app install control, and protection against the contact switching to a new number.
