How do families manage screen time when kids use mixed devices?

Hey everyone. We have three kids at home ages 8, 12, and 15 and they are all on completely different devices. My youngest is on a Amazon Fire tablet, the middle one uses an Android phone, and my teenager has an iPhone. My husband and I have been trying to manage screen time for managing kids screen time across mixed devices, but every platform has its own parental controls, its own app limits, its own settings buried somewhere deep in a menu we can never find again. My 11 year old figured out that if she deleted and reinstalled an app it reset the Screen Time limit on her iPad. My son found out he could use a browser to access stuff his app was blocked from. Kids are basically junior engineers when it comes to bypassing restrictions lol.

Guided Access on iPhone/iPad is underrated for younger kids. You lock the device to one app and they literally cannot leave it without your passcode. Works great for the 8 year old age group.

Xbox Family Settings app is actually really good, you can set content filters, screen time, and even get weekly activity reports sent to your phone. PlayStation has a companion app with similar features.

The downside is that if the child deletes the app or removes the VPN profile, the filtering stops. Android 9 and above has a Private DNS setting that lets you point the device at any DNS server you want, which bypasses router-level filtering entirely.
