On Android, you need physical access to the target device to install the app. That means you need to hold your kid’s phone, go into settings, allow unknown sources, install the APK, and configure it. Takes maybe 10-15 minutes if you know what you are doing. The app then runs in the background and is basically invisible.
On iOS, no physical setup needed, you just enter the iCloud credentials and it starts syncing from the backup. Sounds easier, but the trade-off is you only get what is in the backup, not live data.

From what I read, on Android the app runs in stealth mode and does not show up in the app list. Multiple parents on Trustpilot mentioned their kids never noticed it even when the kids actively looked. But a kid who is rooting phones is a different situation entirely.

@ModTechLab okay so that is a different situation than most parents deal with lol. A kid who roots phones is going to eventually find any monitoring app if they are actively looking. That is just the nature of it.
That said, from what I know, on standard Android (not rooted), Xnspy is genuinely difficult to detect. It does not appear in the app drawer, it does not show in running processes in the standard settings view. For most kids, even tech-aware ones, it goes unnoticed.
For a kid rooting their own phone, honestly the whole dynamic changes. If they have root access they have full visibility into everything running on the device. At that point the conversation is probably better than the app
