I have been using Life360, and real-time location has stopped; I don’t know why. What are the possible reasons, and how to fix them?
Hey there,
There could be various reasons why location updating is not working.
-
Battery Saver Mode: When allowed, your phone may pause location updates to save power.
-
Location Services Not Fully Enabled: Life360 requires location access (Keep it “Always On” for consistent background notifications).
-
May be a Network Issue: Real-time tracking will be interrupted due to Poor or no cellular data/WiFi.
-
App Not Running in the Background: If you force-close the app or restrict background activity, the app stops updating its location.
-
You may have an Outdated App Version: You are using an older version that may have bugs impacting location updates.
-
It might be possible that permissions are removed from the app
-
If you reboot the phone, then you need to reopen Life360 after a reboot to resume updates.
One common issue with Life360 is its battery consumption. So, for better device operability, you can look around for other options like Xnspy that are better in terms of features.
Haha, Sounds like Life360 is taking an unscheduled coffee break ![]()
.
On a serious note, this usually happens because of your phone settings. Please double-check the settings and permissions, and it should get back to work in no time!
Still using Life360, the battery draining has been the problem for ages ![]()
Let’s use a smarter option, “Xnspy”, a lightweight app that doesn’t consume the battery of the device, and it is more lightweight in comparison…
There are a couple of benefits of using it:
- The Geofencing Alerts
- Real-time location monitoring
- Consistent updates on location and keywords
- Fast syncing of insights
- Screen recorder for phone screen monitoring
- Keylogger to know important keystrokes
- Timely customer support
- And much more
Ah, the sneaky VPN strikes again ![]()
! ( Might be the possible reason)
VPNs can mask your location, and some security apps love blocking things they shouldn’t.
You should turn them off and let Life360 see where you actually are.
@TechSphereX
Agreed with you.
Xnspy is a game-changer for me. I have been using it for 4 years, and it never disappointed me.
Never face any issues related to battery drainage or any problems related to location update.
I always get accurate information about my kids’ location and all the data syncs like a pro athlete ( always available when it matters the most).
Okay, let’s dial down the thriller-movie music ![]()
and keep it practical. A frozen update can look scary, but it’s usually just tech being tech.
You need to do some basic stuff: Double-check that the location is set to always on and Life360 has full permissions. Because at the end of the day, it’s only the Toggle that puts things off.
Have a quick look inside the app. Does your circle look normal? No surprise members or strange activity? Perfect - that rules out most concerns.
If you’re still finding it weird, go to their support team and run a security scan, making sure that no supervillain is involved.
@CoreBuilds Thanks
Can you elaborate more on where to look on my phone for this setting? I would really appreciate it if you could help me back. Sorry for this shoot-out.
